About Chi-Chung KONG (Orthopaedic - Knee)
Dr CC Kong is an orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in knee problems.
He believes in trying to save knees by correcting their anatomy and restoring their function, if necessary, by advanced surgical techniques.
Dr Kong performs innovative procedures for challenging knee problems, especially in young people, including hyaluronic acid injection for osteoarthritis; anatomical double-bundle ACL reconstruction; PCL reconstruction; revision cruciate ligament reconstruction; autologous cartilage cell implantation for articular cartilage damage; treatment of meniscal injuries, including by meniscal repair and transplantation for meniscal damage; corrective osteotomies; patellar (knee cap) problems; treatment of fractures around the knee; and ‘biological knee replacement’ for young people with severe knee problems. He also performs partial, total and revision knee replacements.
After graduating from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1991, Dr Kong did his orthopaedic residency training at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Hong Kong, and knee fellowship training in the USA. He was appointed head of the knee team at North District Hospital, Hong Kong, in 1998 and joined Asia Medical Specialists in 2006.
